On the road again. We couldn't resist a stop at Mataranka - Bitter Springs, not mataranka Thermal Pools which have been tainted by humans. Bitter Springs, apart from some stairs, is pretty much as natural as you can get. Lovely and warm, the current pushes you along for a beautiful swim through the reeds.Lily in Bitter Springs |

We stopped off at Katherine for some supplies. The locals were out in force. Katherine was incredibly busy. All the checkouts at Woolworths had long queues.
We camped overnight at Timber Creek. Approximately twenty metres from our camp was a billabong which was home to eight freshwater crocodiles. John and Lily had a turn at feeding them from the bridge.
There were several bushfires on the ridges around us and it created an interesting view from our camper at night.
